Steven Lyle Penn is a seventh-generation Kentuckian, born in Frankfort, where his family settled land on the Kentucky River awarded for service in the Revolutionary War. He is the father of three and now lives in Lexington, Kentucky. This is his fourth published book with three others waiting in the wings. He is a retired writing professor at Morehead State University, all his degrees awarded by the University of Kentucky. Currently, he is working on his fourth novel in the Hatchell Breeze detective series. The third in the series is due out this summer, alongside a follow-up about Kentucky roots and his first true love story which is due out in the fall of 2026.
