Sing Tong Pang served as Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (2004–2016) after earlier roles heading its Monetary Policy, Markets, and Banking Policy divisions. Earlier, he was founding CEO of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation (1997–2004). His forty years in central banking and capital-markets reform give him inside access to the policy dilemmas the book scrutinises. Sing Tong holds a B.Soc.Sc. from the University of Hong Kong and an M.S. in Management from Stanford University and currently sits on several financial-sector boards.
