Sherman A. Meeds, Jr.

Sherman A. Meeds, Jr. lives just outside of Olympia, Washington. He grew up in Southern Oregon, joined the US Navy in 1974, and then spent just over twenty years in naval aviation. While in the US Navy, he worked with helicopter, fighter, electronic warfare, and utility squadrons and one guided missile unit. For a time, he was part of the COMFAIRWESTPAC inspection team, covering an area stretching from the African east coast to Guam in the Pacific. He went on extended cruises on the USS Enterprise, USS Coral Sea, and USS Theodore Roosevelt.

He was at the fall of Saigon in 1975. In Operation Desert Storm, he was on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf. He lived in Japan for three years and for three more years in the Philippine Islands. He has traveled extensively in the Pacific. He worked in Corrections and other state agencies for ten years, followed by six years maintaining a criminal case management system for a prosecuting attorney, followed by nine years working as a contractor developing software solutions. He is married, has three children, and ten grandchildren. This is his second published book.
