John Reinus is a native of New York City, where he and his two brothers, one real and one (a source of significant maternal aggravation) imaginary, lived with their parents during the turmoil of the 1960s. He began his writing career at the age of twelve, but interrupted it to attend medical school. Recently retired after employment as a member of the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he moved to Connecticut and resumed writing. Undertow is his first published work of fiction.
