G.B. Gurland has been an educator for over forty years, as professor emerita and former director of the program in speech-language pathology at Brooklyn College. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with reading and literacy challenges. She has edited and published several workbooks on vocabulary development and is the author of the highly praised middle grade novels The Secret Files of Phineas Foster (2016) and Orphan’s Bond (2021), as well as the delightful Olives, Where Are You? (2018); Emily Fisher-Word Maven (2019); and Soon, Almost, I’m Not Ready Yet (2023) for young readers.
