In the past five years, she has specialized in special education, supporting preschoolers with diverse abilities and helping them build confidence and creativity through play and learning. As a mother of three, Emerald draws inspiration from the wonder, curiosity, and courage she sees in children every day. Emery the Elephant and the Big Fire is her debut picture book—a story that celebrates bravery, friendship, and the beauty of being yourself.
