For nearly four years, Grady LeBrun worked in a jail as a Corrections Officer. During this time, he had the opportunity to take several courses about mental health, criminology and psychology. While working in corrections, he also had the opportunity, as part of his everyday job, to converse with people suffering from various mental illnesses. This gave him a glimpse into the lives and minds of those suffering, and he tries to accurately illustrate these illnesses in the minds of his characters.
