Lisa Garcia is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law. She has previously worked in both, the legal and education fields. It was during her childhood that she started writing poetry and short stories. She used her writing as a refuge from the pain and anguish of being bullied which led to feelings of isolation and loneliness. Told entirely in the voice of the author, Love Lessons from a Bullied Child illustrates the ability to persevere through the pain of being bullied and accomplish one’s goals in life. It is a perfect example of hurt being transformed into compassion, self-esteem, and self-awareness.
