Nana Barbara graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in 1961 at the age of 18. With younger sisters ranging in age from 2 to 12, she became acutely aware of children’s wants and needs due to the significant age gap. Shortly after getting married in 1963, Nana and her husband decided to start a family. They were blessed with a daughter, Lisa, followed by Joseph and Christopher.
