Arthur X. Deegan II, PhD
After spending 12 years in a Catholic seminary, five of which as a professed religious, Dr. Arthur X. Deegan served three years in the US Army and then received a doctorate from the University of Michigan. Then he wrote The Priest as Manager and Developing a Vibrant Parish Council. He was the first chairman—and later Executive Director of the Conference for Pastoral Development and Council Development, and Executive Director of Cathedral Ministry in the New Millennium. In these positions and as a Bible study group leader for many years, he tries to help individuals and faith-sharing groups to mine new insights into oft-read Scripture passages and see what they never saw before in the word of God. In his retirement, he authored four devotional books.
